January Sessions
The human figure holds an important symbolic role for the artist, dating back to the prehistoric era and continuing through the humanistic appreciation of the body visualized in Greek painting, sculpture, and beyond. Though historically, within the pursuit of education, the human form was another subject for humankind to master, it remains a fundamental practice that hones an artist’s understanding of anatomy, form, and expression. Studying the human figure nurtures a deeper connection between artistic expression and the nuances of the human experience.
